The Three Ashra of Ramadan

Ramadan is divided into three blessed stages (ashras), each with a unique spiritual focus and dua:

1st
Ashra of Mercy (رَحْمَة)
Feb 19 – Feb 28
يَا رَحِيمُ ارْحَمْنِي

O Most Merciful, have mercy on me

2nd
Ashra of Forgiveness (مَغْفِرَة)
Mar 1 – Mar 10
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him

3rd
Ashra of Salvation (نَجَاة)
Mar 11 – Mar 20
اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّار

O Allah, save me from the Fire

Laylat al-Qadr 2026 — The Night of Power

Laylat al-Qadr is described in the Quran as "better than a thousand months" (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3). It falls in the last 10 odd nights of Ramadan. In 2026, these are:

Dua for Laylat al-Qadr
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni
"O Allah, You are Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me."

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan." (Bukhari & Muslim). Increase your worship, recitation of Quran, dhikr, and dua during all five odd nights — do not rely on just the 27th.

Zakat in Ramadan — Multiply Your Rewards

Paying Zakat during Ramadan is not obligatory (Zakat is due when your hawl date passes), but most scholars agree that the rewards of all good deeds — including Zakat — are multiplied during this blessed month.

Why Pay Zakat in Ramadan?

  • Multiplied rewards: Good deeds in Ramadan are rewarded up to 70 times or more.
  • Best time to give: The spirit of generosity during Ramadan maximises the impact of your Zakat on recipients.
  • Easy to remember: Using Ramadan as your annual Zakat date makes it easier to maintain consistency every year.
  • Purifies your fast: Giving Zakat and Sadaqah while fasting purifies your worship further.
